The Real Revolution

1 where are we going?

Is it possible to totally bring about a mutation in 'what is'? And to go into that, to go into this question of bringing about a total revolution in 'what is', one must have an extraordinary sense of awareness. You know, to be aware, what it means: to be aware of this trees, of the blue sky...

2 Observing ourselves

Look at a flower. Have you ever look at a flower? Or have you looked at it, given it a name, passed it by. Or you say, 'How beautiful. Let me smell it.' All these are distractive actions which prevent you from looking at that flower.

3 Freedom from fear

What we are trying, in all these discussions and talks here, is to see if we cannot radically bring about a transformation of the mind - not accept things as they are, nor revolt against them - revolt doesn't answer a thing. - but to understand it, to go into it, to examine it, give your heart and your mind, with everything that you have, to find out a way of living differently.

4 Meditation 冥想

I should think, one of our greatest problems in life, must be, surely, knowing that our minds deteriorate, decline as one grows older, or deteriorate even when one is quite young - being a specialist along a certain line, and being unaware totally of the whole complex area of life. It must be a great problem, to find out whether it is at all possible to stop this deterioration, so that mind is always fresh, young, clear, decisive. And is it at all possible to end this decline? This evening, if I may, I would like to go into that, because to me, meditation is freeing the mind from the known.

5 What is love?

To ask questions is not to find an answer, but to discover.

6 Questioning 质疑

Ping So you think that we ought not to, we must find the solutions to the problems in ourselves? Pong Obviously, because you are the man who is going to suffer, you are the man who is giong to - exactly - you are the person who is going to have all the problems of life.

7 Living and death

The desire to achieve is essentially based on comfort, pleasure, satisfaction, gratification. And what we are going to deal with this morning, does not need any kind of effort at all, because effort exists only when there is contradiction, contradiction within.

8 The end of conflict

And most of us, I presume, have come here this morning, or go to church, or anything, because our life is so monotonous, so lonely, so utterly meaningless. And we want to find something that will be deeply gratifying, deeply that will bring about deep content. So, why are we discontented, and with what? Please answer the question to yourselves.
